Irene Khan and Vilas Dhar, President and Trustee of the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, held a fireside chat at RightsCon 2023 with facilitator Paola Ricaurte. They discussed the impact of climate dis/misinformation, the urgent need to protect environmental defenders, and the importance of access to climate data. The discussion examined the role of different stakeholders in finding solutions to the climate crisis, and the importance of shifting power to local communities.
