The Special Rapporteurs for Freedom of Expression, Peaceful Assembly and Privacy sent a communication to the Government of Nepal regarding the new provisions introduced under the National Cyber Security Policy 2023. These provisions appear to unduly limit freedom of expression and access to information, peaceful assembly and association, access to information and the right to privacy.
